Meet the Experts Behind Our Research

Dr. Carmen Dionne

Université des Trois-Rivières, Québec:
An inclusive environment for every child in the community

Dr. Dionne holds the Canada Research Chair in Early Intervention and is Professor of Psychoeducation at UQTR. Her work focuses on inclusive practices for young children and families. As the lead of the UNESCO Chair dedicated to early screening and assessment, she has advanced international research on inclusion and early intervention.

Dr. Angela Low

Vancouver University, Canada:
Resilience for parents

Dr. Low is an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia and a researcher at Simon Fraser University. Her work explores emotional intelligence, resilience, and mental health in families. She also partners with the British Columbia government to design public mental health initiatives supporting parents and children.

Dr. Edward Melhuish

University of Oxford, UK:
Language and socio-emotional skills in young children

Dr. Melhuish is Emeritus Professor of Human Development at the University of Oxford and Birkbeck, University of London, and Baoyuang Foundation Professor of Education at Zhejiang University. His multi-decade research on early education has shaped UK policies on preschool access and quality. In recognition of his contributions to social science, he was awarded the OBE in 2016.

Dr. Amalini Simon

APHP, Paris:
The transcultural approach to early childhood and plurilingualism

A clinical psychologist and director of the Babel Centre in Cochin Children’s Hospital in Paris, Dr. Simon's research explores multilingualism and transcultural development. She teaches and coordinates the DU in Psychiatry and Transcultural Skills at Université Paris Cité and collaborates with Inserm and Université Paris Nord Sorbonne on transcultural child development research.
