Our safety and precautionary measures against COVID-19

When the first case of Novel Cornavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Singapore, we have ramped up our precautionary measures to ensure that all children and staff are in a safe and clean environment.

To safeguard the health and well-being our children and staff, we have implemented the following measures progressively over the past two months against the outbreak of COVID-19. With the change in DORSCON level to orange, we have included the following additional measures.

Limit Visitors and Staff Deployment

Visitors will only be allowed to enter the school premises when necessary. Upon entering the school compound, visitors are required to fill in their particulars in the visitor log. All schools will also limit the deployment of staff across centres to minimise the risk of transmission.

Temperature Screening

With effect from 5th February 2020, we have increased the frequency of temperature checking and all children and staff are required to do a temperature check 3 times a day. Visitors are required to have their temperature checked upon arrival to ensure the safety and well-being of our children and staff.

Implement Leave of Absence

All staff and children returning from Mainland China are required to serve a compulsory Leave of Absence for 14 days. Serving the Leave of Absence is also applicable to Staff and children with any household member who is on Home Quarantine Order (HQO). Parents should inform the child’s preschool immediately if your child is living in a household with a member who is on Home Quarantine Order.

Travel Declaration

All parents and staff will have to fill in the travel declaration form on a weekly basis. Before entering the school, it is compulsory for all visitors to fill up the travel declaration form. This is to ensure that visitors have not travelled to Mainland China for the past 14 days prior to the visit.

Ensure Good Environmental Hygiene – School

To maintain a clean and hygienic environment, our cleaning staff in all schools have increased their frequency in daily cleaning and disinfecting of surfaces, classrooms, furniture, shared areas and items to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and children. This would avoid contamination from the shared items used in school.

Suspend large group activities

Assemblies, mass celebrations will be suspended to prevent any possible spread of the virus among students and staff. To minimise exposure of children to large crowd, all excursions and field trips will be suspended until further notice as well.

Ensure Good Environmental Hygiene – School Bus

Disinfection of school bus will be conducted after each trip or when necessary. Bus drivers and attendants are also required to do a temperature check 3 times a day, alongside with sanitising of hands to keep the germs and bacteria away.

Observe high levels of personal hygiene

We believe that instilling good personal hygiene habits is of paramount importance. Parents, children and staff should practice good hygiene habits such as having frequent handwashing, covering our mouth and nose with a tissue when sneezing or coughing, and strictly no sharing of food and drinks, eating utensils, toothbrushes or towels.
