It’s the time of the year again! Our K2s went for their K2 Camp – Camp UNIty for 2 days 1 night on 12-13 Oct 2018. A combined K2 camp with all our eight Kiddiwinkie campuses, the K2s gathered together at Kiddiwinkie Schoolhouse @ Newton and headed to Camp Challenge Sembawang for a fun-filled day of activities, team bonding and making new friends!
The camp’s activities aim to encourage our children to collaborate and work closely as a team – a skill that would be essential for formal schooling in Primary 1 and beyond. Camp UNIty challenge started off with an orientation briefing, team formation and learning their team cheer. Now the challenge begins! From low element obstacles to team building activities, the children had to cooperate and help each other to complete the various challenges. They even had rock-climbing and junior archer challenge! Despite it being an individual challenge, the air was filled with cheers and encouragement for their friends. In between the day and challenges, the children had an opportunity to experience making their own lunch as well.
To end off the Camp Challenge, our K2s gathered together for a debrief and reflection session before heading back to our Newton campus. We had some night camp activities like camp cheers and team dance, with yummy BBQ dinner specially prepared for our children. After a day of fun-filled activities, our K2s cuddled up and prepared to sleep, awaiting for the next day.
Day 2 of Camp UNIty kick-started with a level-wide morning exercise. Thereafter, our K2s’ parents arrived at the campus to join in the last segment of Camp UNIty with their child. To end of 2018 K2 Camp – Camp UNIty, we had a certificate giving ceremony for every K2 children, photo-taking and lastly, we watched back on the photo montage on their camp activities together with our parents.
It was definitely a rewarding and exciting K2 camp for all our Kiddiwinkie K2 children!
We’re thankful for all our teachers and principals for this camp as well!
